UNITED METHODIST YOUTH FELLOWSHIP
The youth at Christ Community Church are a very talented and diverse group. They range from 6th grade to 12th grade. We meet weekly after the 10:30 service until 2 Pm. After the youth enjoy lunch we have a fellowship time that includes various activities.
For example, the youth participate in devotions, play bells, preparing for youth services, community work, and enjoy each other’s company.
As part of the church community we encourage the youth to give back to the church. The youth show their appreciation by creating and performing two services a year. This year we are also going on a mission trip. We will be going to California and working at a distribution center for Operation Christmas child. Samaritans purse that coordinates Operation Christmas child sends shoe boxes that have been filled with presents overseas to under privileged children.
We also emphasize how important it is to take the time to visit to those who are homebound or not able to attend church. We go Christmas caroling and visit at Christmas time. This year we also went to the hospital on Halloween in costume to spread some cheer and smiles.
BOY SCOUTS TROOP
CCUMC believes in the benefits of Scouting and has an active relationship with Boy Scouts of America. Scouts meet at the church every Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. They welcome youth of all ages from the Community, regardless of Church affiliation. Here at Christ Community UMC is designed to make each child feel special. Vacation Church School and summer camps are other ways that youth and children come to know of God’s love, know Jesus as a friend and Savior, and feel part of a caring community.
Our junior/senior high school youth fellowships will help your kids make the right decisions. At our worship services, children enjoy their own “Childrens Moment”, which offers them a lesson and their own mission projects. More than that, children participate in worship with their families, in their own choir, and as acolytes.
Life is complicated, not just for adults, but for children too! We can’t teach your children how to walk, bet we can help you teach them where to walk!
